OFFICER AND ENLISTED RANKS

Every member of Sturmgrenadier Planetside will hold a specific rank. Each rank carries it's own set of responsibilities, which will eventually be included below.

While the display of these rank images are optional, Sturmgrenadier encourages all its members to proudly display the rank that they've earned through their hard work and dedication! Rank images should be placed above any and all ribbons if their forum avatar rank does not reflect Planetside Rank (multi-portal memberships).

TIG (time-in-grade) rank tracking starts from the day you are assigned to a Battle Group. Overall TIG recording officially started with Planetside's public release for all members who were enlisted at that time.

Note: Sturmgrenadier Rank has no relation to in-game rank. Every SG PS Member, by default, has access to the secure SG Members Only and SG PS Members Only forums. Rank/responsibilities subject to change.

Private	2nd Lieutenant
Entry level Rank	Platoon Leader In Training - Squad command. - 3 mos max service.
Private First Class	1st Lieutenant
One Month of service and Completion of Standard Operating Procedures #1 Class.	Platoon Leader - Platoon command. - 1 month TIG as 2nd LT. - 4 mos max service. - Overall command if no senior officers are online. - Active in the forums. - Makes enlisted promotion recommendations to BG CO/XO. - Must receive endorsement of BG CO for promotion from 2nd LT.
Lance Corporal	Captain
TIG Three Months of service.	Company Grade Officer - 3 mos TIG as 1st LT. - Must receive endorsement of BG CO for promotion from 1st LT. - Active in the forums. - Identify and develop upcoming leaders. - Makes enlisted promotion recommendations to the BG CO/XO. - Overall command if no senior officers online.
Corporal	Major
TIG Four Months of service.	Reserved Rank
Sergeant	Lieutenant Colonel
TIG Six Months of service.	Reserved Rank
Staff Sergeant	Colonel
Appointed Rank	Battle Group Division Officer - Responsible for administrative upkeep of their BG. - Responsible for training their replacement. - 3 mos min service, no max. - May elect to be considered for Platoon Leader position. - Upon retirement, reduced to 2nd LT. and awarded a ribbon designating them as a retired BG Division Officer.
Sergeant First Class	Brigadier General
Appointed Rank	Battle Group XO - Assists BG CO with all BG operations. - Makes officer promotion recommendations to Portal CO/XO. -Responsible for enlisted promotions. - Tracks platoon leader activity level. - Develops Platoon Leaders. - 3 mos min, 6 mos max in position. - Mandatory retirement and reduction to the rank of Captain after 6 mos and awarded ribbon designating individual as a retired BG XO.
Master Sergeant	Major General
Appointed Rank	Battle Group CO - Manages all aspects of Battle Group. - Makes officer promotion recommendations to Portal CO/XO. -Responsible for enlisted promotions. - Tracks platoon leader activity level. - Develops Platoon Leaders. - 3 mos min, 6 mos max in position. - Mandatory retirement and reduction to Captain after 6 mos and awarded ribbon designating individual as a retired BG CO.
Sergeant Major	Lieutenant General
PS Recruiting Officer - Manages all recruiting efforts. - Keeps relevant recruiting posts at the top of all relevant forums with all due respect for forum rules and regulations. - Answers public questions regarding SG. - Screens and enlists potential recruits.	Executive Officer, Planetside - Reports to Commanding Officer. - Manages all aspects of SG PS. - Assists CO where needed. - In-game command.
